I am interested in risks and risk taking, mainly in the risk involved in making decisions based on poor knowledge. Most of us are aversive to knowledge uncertainty but this is a feature that has been lacking in traditional theories of rational decision making. I have looked at how different decision theories accomodates common intuitions abot uncertain knowledge.

Apart from this I am interested in an old discussion in the theory of science. It is about whether criteria for accepting hypotheses should be governed only by epistemic values such as truth, simplicity, etc., or whether the scientist should take account of what the consequences of possible decisions based on the hypothesis could be. This question is important today as with the increase in scientific risk assessment and applied science.
