Oscillations of the lophyl radical concentration during the photodecomposition of o-Cl-hexaarylbisimidazole

Hexaarylbisimidazole (HABI) is a well established photoinitiator in the graphics industry which undergoes in the absence of other reaction partners a fully reversible homolytic bond cleavage into two lophyl radicals L. Surprisingly we now found oscillations of the radical concentration at low temperature in a solution of o-Cl-HABI in toluene, which is an indication of a more complex photochemistry

Towards an operational aqueous phase chemistry mechanism for regional chemistry-transport models: CAPRAM-RED and its application to the COSMO-MUSCAT model

Mechanism reductions of the detailed aqueous phase chemistry mechanism CAPRAM 3.0i are performed. Manual methods and automatic techniques are both applied in order to provide a less computationally intensive mechanism which is operational in regional chemistry transport models (CTMs). The finally reduced mechanism contains less than 200 reactions (4 times smaller than the detailed CAPRAM 3.0i) and

Criminal organizing applying the theory of partial organization to four cases of organized crime

We explore how the idea of partial organization can provide insights in the study of organized crime. Studying criminal organizing with a theoretical framework used for other social organizing phenomena can help us see the interplay between different forms of criminal collaboration under a single analytical lens, and start a discussion on whether criminal organizing is intrinsically different from

Doxa of Shareholders and Owners: : On the Threshold of Financialization

Following financialization, there has emerged an understanding of what it implies to be a shareholder based on the shareholder value perception. However, as this shareholder value perception spreads internationally, it clashes with traditional perceptions. Measurement of the photon identification efficiencies with the ATLAS detector using LHC Run-1 data

The algorithms used by the ATLAS Collaboration to reconstruct and identify prompt photons are described. Measurements of the photon identification efficiencies are reported, using 4.9 fb- 1 of pp collision data collected at the LHC at s=7 TeV and 20.3 fb- 1 at s=8 TeV. The efficiencies are measured separately for converted and unconverted photons, in four different pseudorapidity regions, for tran

Measurement of W± and Z-boson production cross sections in pp collisions at s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Measurements of the W±→ℓ±ν and Z→ℓ+ℓ− production cross sections (where ℓ±=e±,μ±) in proton–proton collisions at s=13 TeV are presented using data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 81 pb−1. The total inclusive W±-boson production cross sections times the single-lepton-flavour branching ratios are σW+ tot=11.83±0.02 (stat

Search for charged Higgs bosons produced in association with a top quark and decaying via H± → τν using pp collision data recorded at s=13 TeV by the ATLAS detector

Charged Higgs bosons produced in association with a single top quark and decaying via H±→τν are searched for with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, using proton–proton collision data at s=13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb−1. The final state is characterised by the presence of a hadronic τ decay and missing transverse momentum, as well as a hadronically decaying top quark, r

Search for pair production of gluinos decaying via stop and sbottom in events with b -jets and large missing transverse momentum in pp collisions at s =13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

A search for supersymmetry involving the pair production of gluinos decaying via third-generation squarks to the lightest neutralino (χ10) is reported. It uses an LHC proton-proton data set at a center-of-mass energy s=13 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector in 2015. The signal is searched for in events containing several energetic jets, of which at least

Measurement of the total cross section from elastic scattering in pp collisions at s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

A measurement of the total pp cross section at the LHC at s=8 TeV is presented. An integrated luminosity of 500 μb−1was accumulated in a special run with high-β⋆beam optics to measure the differential elastic cross section as a function of the Mandelstam momentum transfer variable t. The measurement is performed with the ALFA sub-detector of ATLAS. Using a fit to the differential elastic cross sec

Measurement of total and differential W + W − production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector and limits on anomalous triple-gauge-boson couplings

The production of W boson pairs in proton-proton collisions at s=8 TeV is studied using data corresponding to 20.3 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the ATLAS detector during 2012 at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The W bosons are reconstructed using their leptonic decays into electrons or muons and neutrinos. Events with reconstructed jets are not included in the candidate event sample.

Do auditor and CEO gender matter do audit quality? : Evidence from Sweden

AbstractPurpose: This study aims to examine the association between auditor and chief financial officer (CFO) gender and earnings quality, utilising data from Sweden. This study also aims to examine whether interactions between auditor and CFO, which may affect a firm’s earnings quality, are associated with theirgender. Stubborn Swedes : The persistence of the Swedish corporate governance system under international reform

Despite a number of corporate governance reforms introduced following an Anglo-American blueprint, the Swedish corporate governance system still contains several country-specific traits. In this article, we try to understand this continuity of the national corporate governance system. We do this by outlining a model for describing the processes of change built on Mary Douglas’ (1986) theory of ‘inDespite a number of corporate governance reforms introduced following an Anglo-American blueprint, the Swedish corporate governance system still contains several country-specific traits. The Regulatory Effect on the Performance of Financial Analysts: : Time Series from Two Different Legal Systems

The focus of this paper is the relationship between regulatory settings and financial analysts’ performance, which is examined by studying the level of shareholder protection and the performance of financial analysts in two countries with different legal origins. By using a newly constructed index to measure shareholder protection, we are able to analyze how changes in shareholder protection over

The interaction between country-level and firm-level corporate governance

In this exploratory study, we analyse the relationship between country-level corporate governance and firm-level corporate governance. Although prior research has shown that corporate governance at both levels impacts firm performance, findings have been inconsistent as to whether these levels are complements to or substitutes for each other. By using two extensive datasets this study is able two

Boken

The unlikely root of stock market development : labour and professional influence on transparent accounting

The development of transparent accounting is often theoretically linked with the development of financial markets. In this paper we argue that such an understanding of transparent accounting does not necessarily consider the temporality of the historical context where transparent accounting is invented. To illustrate this argument we empirically investigate the raise of transparent accounting in S

Worker representation on corporate boards from a longitudinal perspective : Between corporate governance and industrial relations

At the intersection between industrial relations and corporate governance - i.e. board level worker representation - this paper attempts to bridge four perspectives from the industrial relations literature (unitary, pluralist, radical and egoist) by observing changes in board director perceptions over time.
