Very easily decodable nonlinear cyclic codes

A class of nonlinear binary cyclic codes of length n=m2m, constant weight w=m2m-1, and minimum distance dmin=2m, with M=n codewords for every m⩾2 is introduced. The decoding computation is shown to be equivalent to performing two correlations of fixed sequences with the received word

Inference for Non-linear Diffusions and Jump-Diffusions: A Monte Carlo EM approach

We propose a simple, general and computationally efficient algorithm for maximum likelihood estima- tion (MLE) of parameters in diffusion and jump-diffusion processes. This is conducted within a Monte Carlo EM-algorithm, where the smoothing distribution is computed using resampling. The results are encouraging as we can approximate the MLE well for the models studied when using simulated data. We

Bose-Einstein correlations in the lund model for multijet systems

The interference based analysis of Bose Einstein Correlations in the Lund Model has hitherto been limited to simple strings without gluonic excitations. A new fragmentation method based on the Area Law in the Lund Model allows such an analysis to be extended to multigluon strings.

Glaucoma Characteristics and Risk Factors - Results from Malmö Eye Survey

Grön starr drabbar oftast båda ögoThis thesis is based on data from a large glaucoma screening, comprising 32, 918 elderly citizens of Malmö and data from retrospective analysis of glaucoma patients’ charts from the Eye Department of Malmö University Hospital. The definition of glaucoma was based on reproducible visual field defects and/or glaucomatous optic nerve head damage in both groups. In paper I, including screened individ

Non-manipulable Assignment of Individuals to Positions Revisited

This paper investigates an allocation rule that fairly assigns at most one indivisible object and a monetary compensation to each agent, under the restriction that the monetary compensations do not exceed some exogenously given upper bound. A few properties of this allocation rule are stated and the main result demonstrates that the allocation rule is coalitionally strategy-proof.

Analysis and design of modern stream ciphers (invited paper)

Summary form only given. When designing symmetric ciphers, security and performance are of utmost importance. When selecting a symmetric encryption algorithm, the first choice is whether to choose a block cipher or a stream cipher. Most modern block ciphers offer a sufficient security and a reasonably good performance. But a block cipher must usually be used in a "stream cipher" mode of operation,
