High-order harmonic generation in molecular gases
We present an experimental study of harmonic generation in molecular gases, using the fundamental (800 nm) and the second harmonic (400 nm) of a 150 fs titanium - sapphire laser at an intensity of ##IMG## [http://ej.iop.org/images/0953-4075/29/14/032/img1.gif] . We compare the conversion efficiency and the maximum energy obtained in different species: rare gases (Ar, Xe), diatomic molecules ( ##IM

Poly(arylene ether sulfone)s with densely located ionic groups for alkaline fuel cells
Proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) have been widely studied in the search for alternative power sources. However, there are still several challenges remaining with this technology linked to high costs and life-time issues.1 One alternative to the use of PEMFCs is to explore the prospects of alkaline membrane fuel cells (AMFCs). This type of fuel cell has more favorable reaction kinetics,
A general approach for deriving bounds in electromagnetic theory
This paper reports on a systematic procedure for deriving physical bounds in electromagnetic theory. The approach is based on the holomorphic properties of certain Herglotz functions and their asymptotic expansions in the low- and high-frequency regimes. A family of integral identities or summation rules is obtained with values governed by the coefficients in the low- and high-frequency expansions
Physical limitations on the scattering of electromagnetic vector spherical waves
Understanding the interaction between electromagnetic waves and matter is vital in applications ranging from classical optics to antenna theory. This paper derives physical limitations on the scattering of electromagnetic vector spherical waves. The assumptions made are that the heterogeneous scatterer is passive, and has constitutive relations which are on convolution form in the time domain and

Konceptet ”Den utsträckta TV:n” utvecklades och provades (av äldre människor, deras anhöriga och personal) i en ny våThe aim of this licentiate thesis is twofold: 1) to describe old people’s interest in and prospects of using the television for something other than traditional TV viewing, and 2) to describe the nonlinearities in the design process in which this research was performed. A concept called The Extended TV was developed and tested (by old people, their relatives and care workers) in a new nursing home
From rough to final designs by incremental set-inclusion of properties
Design of buildings is a complex task in which ideas are sketched and communicated, by representations that are incrementally elaborated from the early rough sketches to the final design. We claim, that today’s model–based design tools are restricted from fully supporting this process as they are founded on the principle that objects are instances of static types. Such systems do not offer work wi
